Description of the window frame
Along the southern wall of Kiosk E is a 0.35 m high bench and behind it, at the same height, is a course of ashlars with a well-smoothed upper face that has a small mortise.
The bench with the window behind it is a typical feature of Minoan palatial architecture; indeed, it appears that the southern part of the building is arranged in TM IIIA by reusing earlier structures.
