General description of the ashlar course
The NE preserved part of the "ashlar"/ poros stone course consists of a monolithic block with two mortises for the adjustement of the timber window frame, near its NE end of the course and near the SE end of the course respectively (approx. 0.25 m.). Next to the SW mortise, to the NE of it, at a distance of 0.125 m., there is a shallow, not completed mortise (0.04 x 0.04 m.), probable a failed attempt due to miscalculation of the distance. The mortises are 0.09 m. from the SE side/face of the wall. The current appearance of the "ashlar" course is the result of restoration.
