General description of the staircases

U-shaped room accessible from the NE portico of the Central Court that has been identified as a staircase with wooden steps, since no stone steps were found. The dimensions of the first flight (SE) are 4.60 x 1.13 m. and the dimensions of the second flight are 3.50 x 1.07 m. There is no separate entrance to the second flight, hence it is doubtful whether it functioned as a sotto-scala. No imprints of vertical timber reinforcements were recorded at the walls of the rooms. The current appearance is the result of restoration.
