General description of the door frame

U-shaped room that has been identified as a staircase leading to the formal "Banquet Room" on the upper floor of the builiding. The NW wall is of mud-brick with sporadic use of rubble stones. The SE wall and the string wall are of mud-brick wth rubble stone base. The staircase is accessible via the NE portico of the Central Court. The second flight of the staircase does not have a separate opening that could be serving as an entrance to a sotto-scala. Its current appearance is the result of restoration.
