General description of the pier

Restored jamb-pier of mud-brick at the SE free end of the NE wall of the Central Court, facing the NE portico. It is based on a conglomerate stone-base and it is serving also as the NW end of the portico and as a pier jamb of the opening door between Rooms XXXIV and XXXII. The vertical imprints of the vertical timber elements have been restored on the SE and NE sides of the pier. Aside the imprint at the northern corner of the pier, it is not clear if a timber element existed at the NW side (in correspondence with the vertical timber element at the SE side of the pier) based on the restoration. Its current appearance is the result of restoration.
