General description of the base

Cylindrical stone base of a timber column, which is part of the Π-shaped collonade of the lightwell. It is 1.94 m. from the eastern corner of the lightwell and 1.77 from the northern corner of the lightwell. The opening between this base and the northern corner of the lightwell was framed at the end of LM IB, when a partition wall was constructed at this point. The current appearance is the result of conservation and restoration work.
