General description of the chase / cuvity
Horizontal transeversal timber element in the SW wall of Room XXIV, connecting the vertical timber elements of the timber reinforcement system at both sides of the wall. It is at intermediate position in the wall at a height of 0.46 m. from the ground level in Room XXVI. More specifically, it is located 0.80 m. from the horizontal transversal chase of the timber reinforcement system to the SE and 0.90 m. from the horizontal transversal chase of the timber reinforcement system to the NW. The wall is of rubble masonry with mud-brick cladding on the SW side of the wall from the ground-level up. This structural unit was presumably connected on a higher level to the vertical reinforcement system at the NW wall of Room XXIV, as well as to the door-frame of the entrance to Room XXV. Its appearance is the result of restoration.
