General description of the chase / cuvity

Vertical timber element on the NE side/face of the SW wall of Room XXIV, at an intermediate position in the wall. The wall is of rubble masonry with mud-brick cladding on the SW side of the wall from the ground-level up. This vertical timber element is located 0.80 m. from the vertical chase of the timber reinforcement system to the NW and 0.765 m. from the vertical reinforcement system to the SE. It is preserved at a height of 0.46 m. from the ground-level of Room XXVI, where a chase of an horizontal transversal timber element is preserved/restored connecting the preserved vertical chases on both sides of the wall at that point. This structural unit was presumably connected on a higher level to the vertical reinforcement system at the NW wall of Room XXIV, as well as to the door-frame of the entrance to Room XXV. Its appearance is the result of restoration.
