General description of the vertical timber reinforcement system
Three chases are preserved/ have been restored on the SW side of the NE mud-brick wall of the corridor NE of Room XXIV. The far NW chase is exactly opposite of the mud-brick "pier" at the NE end of the SE wall of Room XXIII and the far SE chase is next (to the NW) to the SE end ("pier") of the wall. The chase between the two is part of a vertical timber pair facing both sides of the wall. The current appearance is the result of restoration.
