General description of the pier
At the point where the SE wall of Room XXIII and the NE wall of Room XXIV meet, there is a mud-brick pier-like vertical structural element preserving vertical timbers serving also as parts of the door-frames located at the NE door-opening of Room XXIII and at the NW end of the corridor to NE of Room XXIV. It is based on a stone slab. Its appearance is the result of restoration.
