General description of the chase / cuvity

Vertical timber element on the SE side/face of the NW wall of Room XXIV, on the part of the wall of mud-brick masonry from the ground level of the West Wing up. The lower part of the wall is of rubble stone masonry. This vertical timber element is located 0.61 m. from the vertical chase of the timber reinforcement system to the SW and 0.26 m. from the NE end of the wall. It was assumably connected on a higher level to another vertical timber on the other side of the wall facing Room XXIII but the latter is not recorded or clearly restored. Its appearance is the result of restoration.
