General description of the vertical timber reinforcement system
The NW wall of Room XXIV (Lustral Basin) is of rubble stones from its base up to the floor level of the other rooms of the palace. From this level up is of mud-brick masonry. Four chases of the timber vertical reinforcement system are preserved on the SE side/face of the wall . Its current appearance is the result of restoration.
