General description of the chase / cuvity
Vertical timber element, located at the southern corner of the SW wall of Room XXIII, at the point where this meets the SE wall of Room XXIII connecting the one with the other. It is based on the stone base of the structure and it is part of the timber frame of the wall, connected at some height (not preserved) with the others vertical timber elements of the structure. It has been assumed that it is also connected with the vertical timber reinforcement system at the SE side of the NW wall of Room XXIV. Its appearance is the result of restoration.
