In the excavation report of 1962, the excavator refers to preserved offsets on the mudbrick jambs of the door giving access to the sottoscala of Staircase X (Room X) from Room IX. No further information is given. The current appearance of the mud-bricks (the result of restoration) is not indicative of their arrangement at the time of the excavation.
