Connection of the pier with surrounding structural units
It is a wooden post at the corner of two partition walls built by mud-bricks. It seems that there is no similar trace at the other edge of these partitions, so we cannot see it as part of a timber frame bearing the partition walls. Yet, right opposite of this post and inside the ashlar / mud-brick wall forming the North side of Space III 15, there is a similar post. Where these two connected in some way? At this stage it is not clear yet.
