General description of the location
South House is the southest building at the south of Grave Circle Area. It consists of a small porch leading to a large room (North Hall) and three smaller rooms adjoining it to the south (according to the excavations of Wace at 1920).The later extension of the excavation revealed a group of rooms mentioned in the literature as Citadel House (excavations of Taylor at 1954 and 1968).
