Description of the window frame

The window frame is composed of 2 vertical timbers on each jamb, which are resting on longitudinal timbers. There are also 2 transversal timbers on the extremities of the windowsill. Marie-Claire Amouretti also mentions the presence of an intermediate transversal timber, that divides the window in two, but it is no longer visible with the restorations today.

The windowsill is about 0.52 - 0.61 m above the pavement of room 4, and 0.38 - 0.445 m from the one in room 5.

Presence of other transversal horizontal timber along the height of the wall

There is the imprint of the upper transversal timber on the south jamb.
